Support for Varnish 3.0.5, or even 4.0?

I tried building this with Varnish 3.0.5 on Ubuntu 12.04 (even with the prerequisite of having the 3.0.3 source), and ran into nothing but errors. Can this be ported to work with Varnish 3.0.5, or even the more recent Varnish 4.0?

We’re thinking about taking this into production today… Do you see any issues, or are there any concerns that you might have with us doing so? The solution is to take the code from the master libvmod sample on GitHub, the latest is compatible zith varnish 4 and back port the code from 3scale into it

It seem it's just about the build, the code himself is not dependant from the varnish one ( I guess)

Zak,

The Varnish proxy is running in production with several large scale
customers, including @rapidoo 's company. As long as you can get the
version incompatibilities sorted out, you should be fine.

There are a few reasons that we generally recommend Nginx over Varnish for
your API Gateway - though ultimately the decision comes down to the
preferences for your stack:

• fewer installation issues
• better caching module (eventual consistency rather than ttl)
• configuration wizard in 3scale console to simplify maintenance

I am happy to go into more detail probably in email because it is slightly
off topic for this repo. You can just follow up on the email that I sent to
your privately. We can also have a chat if you like.
