IllegalArgumentException: Bundle "org.eclipse.jdt.junit5.runtime" not found when running Junit plugin test

Steps to reproduce

Run a Junit plugin test for a maven project

I tried

1. Configured run configurations to include junit5
2. Update *.target file to explicitly include Junit5
3. Change different Java JDK/JRE to run the test cases.

But the test cases cannot be triggered with following exception:

java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Bundle "org.eclipse.jdt.junit5.runtime" not found. Possible causes include missing dependencies, too restrictive version ranges, or a non-matching required execution environment.

• OS & version: Windows
• Eclipse IDE/Platform version: I tried Eclipse 2025-03, 2025-06, 2025-09, and 2025-12
• I can make sure the Junit5 is included in the project.

To fix this i believe you are going to need to change something in your project but you provide no details about your project. E.g., how is your target platform specified? What are the dependencies in the project, i.e., specifically what does the MANIFEST.MF look like?

I would try upper bounds that exclude 6.0 for these:

 org.mockito.mockito-core;bundle-version="5.14.2",
 junit-jupiter-api;bundle-version="5.10.2",
 org.mockito.junit-jupiter;bundle-version="5.10.2",

Is there more JDT stuff needed here than this in the target platform:

Everything needed should be shipped with JDT already. Using 2025-12 and properly restricted junit-jupiter-api (at best using packages) should work.
