Could this enable the pages to be layered in such a way that there will no longer be a flash of black as the page changes?

I don't have a flash of black as the page changes. Do you have a screen recording and does this happen for every pdf? Is this an issue introduced in the recent 0.4.0 release?

Sorry, by black I mean my default terminal background. There is a brief moment where the default background is visible between pages. On dark terminals it creates a strobing effect when moving through pages quickly.

That was an issue I had in earlier builds and may have been reintroduced recently, but that issue does not happen on my machine...

My bad, this is resolved in the newer versions. Page transitions are much nicer now.
