Steps to Reproduce

1. Create a ios app using MAUI
2. Enable release health
3. Run and have the app crash
4. Reopen the app

Expected Result

The SDK reports the crashes and crashed sessions to Sentry. The project is using Xcode 26.0 and Apple sdk 26.

Actual Result

In many cases, the crashed session is not reported to Sentry, the crashed events are sent to Sentry with no issues.
Change log for v6 and Cocoa SDK does not seem to address this issue.

I've tested some native crashes with Sentry.Samples.Maui:

• SentrySdk.CauseCrash(CrashType.Native) => EXC_BREAKPOINT
• memset(IntPtr.Zero, 1, 100) => EXC_BAD_ACCESS

In both cases, Sentry Cocoa reports CrashedLastRun as true on restart, and the session has status set to crashed:

However, notice that errors is 0. According to https://develop.sentry.dev/sdk/telemetry/sessions/#session-update-payload

errors

Number, optional, default is 0. A running counter of errors encountered
while this session was ongoing. It's important that this counter is also
incremented when a session goes to crashed.
(eg: the crash itself is always an error as well).
Ingest should force errors to 1 if not set or 0.

@jpnurmi here is the workload list for the affected project:

maui-ios | 9.0.120/9.0.100 | SDK 9.0.300

I did a manual test setting a session to crashed status and errors=0 and with errors omitted from the payload, and in both cases, the session was correctly registered as crashed in the Sentry release. I dont think this is the root cause.

thought: I was thinking if there's an impact through Session Replay, but we just enabled experimental support on iOS in 6.0.0, so can't be related to Session Replay.
