HHD takes over the screen on boot, leaving a black screen

I'm running CachyOS with Lenovo Legion Go, and more often than not whenever I turn the system on, HHD shows its background for a split second, then the screen goes black. When I open HHD via hotkey it opens and the screen is back to normal. The moment I back out of HHD, the screen goes black again.

Uhh, I'd like to add that HHD seems to have gone completely haywire, it seems like it's turning on and off or something. At the bottom the UI is constantly changing back and forth between Xbox themed and Steam themed like the emulation is being turned off or something. I can't bring up the side panel neither with the remapped buttons nor the regular Legion left button.

Edit: when going to settings > controller, it does in fact swap between "No controllers detected" and Input Controller #1. HHD doesn't close with B. And also when in desktop mode the touchpad isn't working properly either. I'm new to Linux so maybe an update on a dependency broke something?

Check for inputplumber being installed and remove it, also in the cachyos discord. There might be a kernel issue

I just checked and no, Input Plumber isn't installed. I tried it out at one point but removed it. Maybe there was a trace left or something, but when checking it's not installed.

Hi, I checked in with the Discord server. It seems that they introduced a new HID driver and the intended course of action is to move to Input Plumber, so that explains the new issue of controls not working. Since I can't use HHD anymore that would "solve" the issue of black screen, but it's worth keeping it in mind for the future, as that's an older and unrelated issue.

Sure. Just in case for anyone who had the input issue, it is resolved by moving to Input Plumber. No updates on the black screen one.

Hi! I experienced this issue. Maybe I'm wrong but I think this is related to this gamescope issue and I also reported it there: ValveSoftware/gamescope#1746

I think it is related to recent session changes in cachyos that cause the steam detection to fail but this is something that is very hard to diagnose without having a device with cachyos
