I am Nathan Guerrero, a software developer and tinkerer, with a focus on DevOps and the back-end. At the moment, I am looking for work! (Remote or in-office will do)
I am strongly proficient in Python, C/C++, and Java, with experience across the entire stack, from React to SQL. As for DevOps, I am knowledgeable in Docker, Nix & Ansible (for IaC), shell scripting (e.g. Bash), and CI/CD pipelines (with GitHub Actions).
Currently based in San Diego, CA, having graduated from the University of California, Irvine in 2025, with a B.S. in Computer Science.
Much of my time is spent homelabbing and self-hosting, shown in the Sapphic Homelab/Home Server, a cluster of repurposed machines running Proxmox and TrueNAS SCALE. They host many NixOS/Linux-based virtual machines and Docker-based containers (with Docker Compose and Komodo), supported by CI/CD pipelines and custom scripts for automation. Examples of services being hosted are Home Assistant, Pterodactyl (for game hosting), and a Linux-based development server. For a video demonstration, watch here.
- saphnet-nixos-configs, my NixOS flakes for my VMs
- saphnet-compose-configs, my Docker Compose stacks for numerous services
- saphnet-ansible-playbook, my Ansible playbooks for automating the deployment of various nodes
- saphnet-nginx, a custom Docker image for simplified reverse proxy setups with Nginx
- saphnet-sftp, a custom Docker image for simplified SFTP servers
- nixos-cloud-init-installer, a NixOS image/flake intended for flexible cloud-init provisioning, built with GitHub Actions
- docker-volume-rclone, a custom Docker image for synchronizing Docker volumes to a remote location on a schedule
- certbot-dns-namecheap, a fork of the original certbot-dns-namecheap with an automated CI/CD setup for creating Docker images
