RealSnag Media Downloader

A media downloader application built with Avalonia UI.

Prerequisites

For Development

  • .NET 9.0 SDK
  • Visual Studio 2022 or VS Code (optional)

For End Users

No additional software required! The application is distributed as a self-contained installer that includes everything needed:

  • .NET 9.0 Runtime - Bundled with the application
  • yt-dlp - Media downloader (bundled)
  • ffmpeg - Audio/video processing (bundled)

Simply download and run the MSI installer - no manual .NET installation needed!

Usage

  1. Paste a media link in the input field
  2. Select your preferred format (MP4 or MP3)
  3. Click Download to start the process
  4. Monitor progress in the logs section

Settings

Access the settings panel by clicking the settings button to:

  • Switch between Dark and Light themes
  • Change language between English and German

Installation

Download the latest MSI installer from the releases page and run it. The installer will:

  • Install to C:\Program Files\RealSnag Media Downloader\
  • Include all .NET 9.0 runtime files (self-contained)
  • Create desktop and Start Menu shortcuts
  • Show MIT license agreement
  • Support silent installation
  • Provide clean uninstallation

No prerequisites required - everything is included in the installer!
